Activities
in the area include: Swimming, horse riding, bird watching, hot air
ballooning, canoeing, kayaking, hiking/walking, gastronomy, and a wealth
of medieval towns villages and castles, and numerous sites of
prehistoric man including famous cave paintings.
My
activity recommendations are:
1. Visit the
French market in Sarlat in
the medieval quarter on either a Saturday or Wednesday morning.
2.
Visit the bastide walled town of Domme.
3. See the
Trogloditique caves in
the rocks at La Roque Gageac.
4. Do half a days
canoeing or kayaking from Cenac
down the Dordogne river.
5.
Visit the award winning Florimont-Gaumier vinyard.
6. Try the local Fois
Gras both cooked and as a smooth pate.
